Description
Harrow Top Farmhouse, Cottage, and Barn is a late 18th-century structure made of hammer-dressed stone with quoins and very large plinth stones. It features a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables and moulded foot-stones, along with gable stacks on both the house and cottage. The building is two storeys high.
The cottage's south elevation has a ground floor that includes a former entrance, now blocked, with a stone surround, and an entrance within a modern porch. There is one three-light stone mullioned window on this level. The first floor has one three-light stone mullioned window and one two-light stone mullioned window.
The house's ground floor features one eight-light stone mullioned window, which has a king mullion and double lintel. The first floor has one eight-light stone mullioned window, although only the king mullion remains. On the north elevation, there is one single light on the ground floor and one two-light stone mullioned window on the first floor.
The barn's south elevation showcases a large central doorway with a large millstone grit lintel supported by rounded corbels and quoins. Above the doorway is a small light with a false arch in a large lintel, accompanied by large stone surrounds and tie-stones. There is also a further light above this. Additionally, there is a small entrance with a stone surround, tie-stones, and a deep double lintel.
