Description
Goat Hill Farmhouses and Barns is an early 19th-century building comprising two cottages with a barn at each end. The structure is made of hammer-dressed stone, with struck pointing on the cottages and a pitched stone slate roof. The southwest side features moulded footstones.
The southeast elevation shows the two cottages, each with two ground floor entrances that have stone surrounds, one of which includes tie-stones. One entrance has an adjoining single light that is blocked. There is also a five-light stone mullioned window and a three-light stone mullioned window on this floor. On the first floor, there are four three-light stone mullioned windows.
The barn to the southwest has a large doorway with a semicircular arched head, which is partially blocked, along with a stone surround and tie-stones. Above this doorway is a small light with a false arched head. There is also a small doorway with a stone surround and tie-stones. The barn to the northeast features a large doorway with a semicircular arched head and stone surround, which is also partially blocked, with a small light above that has a false arched head.
On the northwest elevation, a two-storey extension has a pitched stone slate roof. The ground floor is back to earth with a window in a light well, while the first floor contains a former loading door that is partially blocked.
