Description
West End Farmhouses and Barn is a group of buildings from the early to mid 19th century, consisting of two cottages and a barn. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with quoins and feature a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables. The buildings are two storeys high.
On the southeast elevation, the northeast cottage has a ground floor entrance with a stone surround and a 4-light stone mullioned window. The first floor features an 8-light stone mullioned window. The middle cottage has a blocked entrance on the ground floor and a 4-light stone mullioned window, although two mullions have been removed. The first floor includes a 2-light stone mullioned window and a 3-light stone mullioned window. The northeast gable has a ground floor 2-light stone mullioned window and two 2-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor.
The barn on the southeast side has a large central doorway with a segmental arched head and a lean-to extension along the entire northwest elevation, which has a catslide roof.
