Description

6 Miles Post is a late 19th-century mile post located on New Hey Road in Scammonden. It features a cast iron plate affixed to a stone post with a rounded top. The plate is inscribed with the following details: "HUDDERSFIELD & NEW HEY ROAD SCAMMONDEN JUNCTION HUDDERSFIELD 7 MILES 6 MILES ROCHDALE 13 MILES." Additionally, in smaller letters, it reads: "BRAYSHAW & BOOTH MAKERS LIVERSEDGE."
