Description

6 Miles Post is a late 19th-century milestone located on Manchester Road in Linthwaite. It features a cast iron plate affixed to a stone post that has a rounded top. The plate is inscribed with the distances to various locations: "WAKEFIELD & AUSTERLANDS ROAD MARSDEN OLDHAM 11½ MILES HUDDERSFIELD 6 MILES". Additionally, in smaller letters, it states: "BRAYSHAW & BOOTH MAKERS LIVERSEDGE".
