Description

5 Miles Post is a late 19th-century milestone located on Manchester Road in Linthwaite. It features a cast iron plate affixed to a stone post that has a rounded top. The plate displays the following inscriptions: "WAKEFIELD & AUSTERLANDS ROAD SLAITHWAITE OLDHAM 12½ MILES HUDDERSFIELD 5 MILES." Additionally, in smaller letters, it reads "BRAYSHAW & BOOTH MAKERS LIVERSEDGE."
