Description
15 and 16 Blakestones are a pair of cottages built in the late 18th century. They are made from hammer-dressed stone, while No 17 is rendered. The cottages have a pitched stone slate roof that has recently been turned. They are two storeys tall.
On the south elevation, each cottage has one entrance with stone surrounds and a three-light stone mullioned window. The first floor features another three-light stone mullioned window for each cottage, both of which are deeply recessed. The southwest gable has been rebuilt on the upper floor, and there is a deeply recessed two-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor.
There is a lean-to extension made of random rubble with a felted roof. The northwest elevation includes a coursed rubble lean-to extension that is single storey with a stone slate roof. The northeast gable has one two-light stone mullioned window and one single light window on the first floor.
