Description
Lower Wood Farm and Barn is a late 18th-century building that was formerly used as farm cottages and a barn, arranged at a right angle. The structure is constructed of coursed rubble with quoins and features a pitched stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high.
On the southeast elevation, there is a recessed four-light stone mullioned window and a recessed two-light stone mullioned window, although two of its mullions have been removed. The northwest elevation has two entrances with stone surrounds on the ground floor, along with a recessed two-light stone mullioned window and two additional windows with stone surrounds, one of which has had its mullions removed. The first floor features a recessed three-light stone mullioned window and another window with a stone surround.
The barn, which is positioned at right angles to the farm, includes a barn door with a large lintel and quoins, along with an extension at the east end.
