Description

Home Head Farm is a late 18th-century farmhouse with later alterations, situated in a terrace. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with quoins, and has a pitched stone slate roof covered with bitumen. There are two chimney stacks, one featuring decorative tabling. The south-east elevation features ground-floor entrances with stone surrounds, along with two four-light stone mullioned windows from which two mullions have been removed, and one two-light window where a mullion has been removed. Some rebuilding of the windows is evident. A small single-storey lean-to extension is also present on the ground floor. The first floor has various three and four-light stone mullioned windows, some with two mullions removed. The north-west elevation includes a single-storey lean-to extension and a large doorway to a former barn at the north end, which has a segmental arched head, now partially blocked and containing a single light window. Two four-light stone mullioned windows are visible on the ground floor, each with two mullions removed and some rebuilding. The first floor has three four-light mullioned windows with two mullions removed, one three-light window with one light blocked and one mullion removed, and a later single light window.
