Description

Pennine View is a late 18th century to early 19th century farmhouse, cottage, and barn built in one range of hammer-dressed stone. The building features quoins on the gable of the barn and the northwest side of the farmhouse and cottage, with a pitched stone slate roof and concrete pantiles on the farmhouse. The barn has a coped gable, and the farmhouse roof also has copings.

The southeast elevation includes the barn, which has a small doorway with chamfered millstone grit surrounds and a large central doorway that has been partially blocked to form a smaller entrance with a semi-circular arched head and quoins. The farmhouse has a small entrance with chamfered millstone grit surrounds, a large four-light stone mullioned window, and one single light window on the ground floor, both of which have been altered. The first floor features a former eleven-light stone mullioned window that is now part blocked, with several mullions removed.

The cottage has an entrance with chamfered millstone grit surrounds on the ground floor, along with one two-light stone mullioned window that has chamfered reveals and a recessed mullion. The first floor of the cottage includes one single light and one two-light stone mullioned window, both with chamfered reveals and recessed mullions.

On the northwest elevation, the barn has two single light windows, while the farmhouse has a small doorway with quoins that is now blocked. The cottage features one single light window on the first floor. The southwest gable of the barn has a single-storey lean-to extension made of rubble, brought to courses.
