No. 8 Ainley Place is a 17th-century building that forms part of a terrace. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a pitched stone slate roof. The building has moulded footstones and stands two storeys tall, with the ground floor at the back set into the earth.
On the southeast elevation, the ground floor entrance is framed by millstone grit quoins and a large millstone grit lintel with a Tudor arch. There is also a four-light stone mullioned window with double chamfers. The first floor has a two-light stone mullioned window with double chamfers, alongside a three-light stone mullioned window with double chamfers and two adjoining lights, which are later additions.
The northwest elevation includes a light well at the ground floor.
