Description

This is an early to mid-18th century barn and cottage, with later additions in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone, with a roof of graduated stone slates. The barn occupies the left-hand side and is composed of three bays and two storeys. It features a segmental arch over the cart entry, with a keystone, and small, single-light windows at two levels on either side of the arch. Quoins are visible. The cottage, also of early or mid-18th century origin, has four-light and six-light windows with recessed, cavetto-moulded frames and king mullions. The right-hand gable features a blocked doorway, along with single- and two-light windows of a similar design, and a gable chimney stack. A flat-faced stone mullion window is located at the rear of the cottage, and a winnowing door is situated at the rear of the barn.
