Description

Rye Top is a house built around 1770, with later additions from the 18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two bays and three storeys, with a porch located at the right gable. The first bay has quoins and a dressed doorway to the right, which is now blocked, along with four, five, and five-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows. The second bay, added in the late 18th century, includes a six-light window on each floor and a gable porch. The house has gable chimney stacks and a coped gable with kneelers on the right side only. There are also two and three-light windows on the gables and at the rear.
