Description

The Sunday School of Crimsworth Wesleyan Methodist Church, dated 1868, is located opposite the Crimsworth Wesleyan Methodist Church. It is constructed of rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building is single storey at the front and rises to two storeys at the rear and sides. It has rusticated quoins and a three-bay symmetrical facade topped with a triangular pedimented gable that includes a date plaque in the tympanum. The entrance has a doorway with monolithic jambs, a fanlight, and a cornice supported by consoles. This doorway is flanked by tall round-headed windows that have architraves and keystones, along with margin glazing. The side elevation features a five-bay return with segmental arched windows. There is an eaves band and gutter brackets, and a single stack is present. The building occupies a prominent corner site in relation to the chapel.
