Description
The Methodist Free Church, dated 1868, is built from hammer dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with gable copings. It has a small square cupola on the ridge and moulded stone brackets. The building is two storeys high, with a three-bay gable front and four-bay sides. The central door is topped with a deep fanlight and a moulded cornice. The windows consist of two round arched lights with a simple foil above, all set in arched wood frames. A tablet at the apex of the gable reads: "METHODIST FREE CHURCH 1868." There is a dwarf stone wall returning to the chapel, with cast iron railings featuring spear and fleur-de-lys heads, and similar gates with ashlar piers.
