Description
This guide post, located opposite number 1 at the junction of Akroyd Lane with Keighley Road, dates from the early to mid 19th century. It is a monolith featuring two dressed angled faces. The top of the post is inscribed with "PARISH OF WADSWORTH." The left face indicates directions to "OLD TOWN" and "MIDGLEY" with a hand pointing right towards "HAWORTH" and "OXENHOPE." The right face points to "HEBDEN BRIDGE," "TODMORDEN," and "HALIFAX" with a hand pointing left towards "KEIGHLEY."
