Description
The Methodist Church, built around 1870, is a Methodist Chapel made of dressed stone with ashlar dressings and rusticated ashlar quoins. It features a pitched slate roof and consists of a six-bay hall with a four-bay pedimented gable front, standing two storeys tall. There is a first-floor sill band, and the main entrance has paired doors surrounded by plain pilasters and a common entablature. Each side has a single sash window with a segmental head, deep key, and marginal glazing. The first floor has four round-arched sash windows with plain pilaster surrounds, rusticated voussoirs, and marginal glazing. The pediment includes an oculus with a scrolled surround and the word "WESLEYAN" below, topped with a vase acroterion. The windows on the right elevation are similar in detail, although one has been enlarged to create a recent doorway. The left elevation is obscured by recent brick infill.
