Description

The National Westminster Bank is a bank and former manager's house built around 1905 in the Renaissance style. It features ashlar stone with ashlar dressings and slate hipped roofs, topped with three tall wall stacks. The building has a plinth and a deeply dentilated cornice, with a continuous impost band on the ground floor.

The main facade has four windows with a recessed center. The ground floor showcases a large round-headed window with three lights and glazing bars, flanked by single round-headed openings. To the right, there is a casement window, and to the left, a pair of panel doors with a plain fanlight above, leading to glazed double doors. Above this, there are two central glazing bar sashes, flanked by single French windows that have glazing bar overlights and ashlar balconies with wrought iron balustrades. All these openings are adorned with tall keystones.

The side facade features another large round-headed window, with a blind window above it, flanked by single glazing bar sashes, which also have tall keystones. To the right, the former manager's house has three small windows and a doorway with a moulded ashlar surround, above which are a single and a three-light casement window. Inside, the banking hall retains its original panelling.
