Description
Nos. 16 and 18 on Station Road are warehouse buildings dating from around 1870. They are constructed of dressed stone, featuring rusticated ashlar quoins and ashlar dressings. The slate roof has heavily moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course. The buildings rise three storeys and have a moulded cornice above the ground floor, along with a band beneath the second-floor windows. The symmetrical facade has six bays, with six moulded ashlar arches supported by pilaster-like piers with moulded capitals. These arches frame four windows and two doorways on the ground floor, although there is recent blockwork below the windows. The first-floor windows have a segmental head and shouldered architrave surround, while the second-floor windows are square-headed.
