Description
The Methodist Sunday School, built around 1870, is a two-storey building constructed of dressed stone featuring rusticated ashlar quoins and ashlar dressings. It has a hipped slate roof with moulded brackets at the eaves cornice. The building has a six-bay hall and a five-bay facade, with the three central bays forming a group that includes a central entrance flanked by lights. The ground floor openings have heavy segmental arched heads and a continuous impost band. The first-floor windows are arranged in two tiers, separated by ashlar panels, and have pilaster surrounds topped with Corinthian capitals. The upper tier windows are round arched and feature rusticated voussoirs. The left elevation displays heavy segmental headed windows on the ground floor and round arched windows with a sill and impost band on the first floor. To the right, there is recent brick infill.
