Description
This milestone, located in front of Sedgley Bungalow on Cragg Road, was erected in 1826 for the Mytholmroyd and Blackstone Edge Turnpike Trust. It features an arch-headed stone that is overlaid with cast iron. The top of the milestone reads "MYTHOLMROYD & BLACKSTONE EDGE ROAD ERRINGDEN." The left face indicates "ROCHDALE," while the right face shows "MYTHOLM 11 MILES," "ROYD 1½ MILES," and "HALIFAX 7.1/3 MILES."
