Description

The milestone near Moor Quarries is a single stone, whitewashed, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is a triangular upright stone. The left face of the stone reads "TO ROCHDALE 13 MILES, RIPPONDEN 2 MILES," while the right face reads "TO ELLAND 2 1/2 MILES." This milestone is located on the former turnpike road for the Blackstone Edge Trust.
