Description

This is a milestone from the early 19th century, located 15 meters to the west of Beestonhirst on Rochdale Road in Ripponden. It is a small upright stone with two dressed faces. The left face of the stone reads "TO ROCHDALE" and the right face reads "TO HALIFAX 9 MILES."
