Description
Rishworth Congregational Chapel is a non-conformist chapel built in 1832. It is constructed of dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The front of the chapel has three bays, arranged symmetrically around the entrance. The entrance has monolithic jambs and a flat lintel, which is topped by a foliated cartouche inscribed with "INDEPENDENT UNION CHAPEL" and the date. Above the entrance is a round-headed window with marginal glazing, flanked by longer windows on either side. Beneath the eaves, there are three small rectangular openings, with the outer ones glazed and the central one being blind. Gutter brackets are present. At the rear, there is an outshut that is flanked by two round-headed windows, and two small chimneys are located on the left gable.
Inside, the chapel retains early 19th-century fittings, including a panelled gallery, box pews, and a panelled pulpit on a rostrum, with a small organ positioned behind.
