Description

Mid Birks is a row of single-cell cottages located on Cragg Road in Hebden Royd. The cottage at No. 5 features a date plaque above the door inscribed "T S S" and the year "1812". The cottages are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and topped with a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high with quoins and consist of three bays, each bay containing a three-light flat-faced mullioned stepped window, similar in style to those found at Spa Terrace, although the glazing has been altered. The ground floor window of No. 5 has lost its mullions and step, having been replaced with a large window featuring a monolithic lintel. There are two stacks on the ridge.
