Description
West Lodge, The Doune, is a single-storey rectangular cottage that was remodeled and enlarged around 1805, with designs by Elizabeth and Jane Grant in 1812. The exterior features white harling and a west gable with two bays, which is sheltered by a deep verandah supported by three painted brick pilasters. The entrance door is located to the right of the west gable and is flanked by a two-light window that retains its original lattice pane glazing. The south elevation also has two bays and includes a central ridge stack, topped by a piended slate roof. There is a modern roof extension at the rear.
