Description
The Doune Farm Cottages, built between 1800 and 1810, consist of an east-facing U-shaped single-storey range of cottages. The complex includes one four-bay and two three-bay dwellings constructed from harled pointed rubble with tooled rubble dressings. The symmetrical three-bay cottages feature one facing north and one facing south, each with central doors that are sheltered by later projecting gabled porches, which are flanked by windows and some former doors. These cottages are connected by a four-bay east-west range. The windows have nine-pane glazing, and there are wallhead and end stacks, topped with graded local slate roofs. The interior is currently empty and in a state of deterioration.
