George Cottage, The Wynd, Gifford

George Cottage, located on The Wynd in Gifford, is a semi-detached house dating from the later 18th century. It is two stories tall and has three bays. The exterior features white-painted harling with painted ashlar dressings.

On the south elevation, there is a central door flanked by windows in the outer bays, with additional windows under the eaves of each bay on the first floor. The west elevation has a window at ground level to the right and another at the first floor to the left. The sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern. The house has ashlar coped skews on the west side and a later chimney stack.

To the north, there is a rubble retaining wall that supports the garden. A boulder is positioned at the southwest angle of the house, located at the corner where The Wynd meets another path leading to Main Street.
