Cornerways, Main Street, Gifford

Cornerways is a house dating from around 1800, featuring two storeys with a single-storey rear addition and a part-shop at the ground level. The exterior is finished with painted render, painted harl on the sides and rear, and painted dressings.

On the east elevation, there is a corniced door located to the right of an otherwise blank gable end. The south elevation has a fanlit door flanked by windows, positioned left of centre, with an additional window to the right at ground level and three regularly spaced windows on the first floor.

The north elevation includes a single-storey piend-roofed addition at the rear, which has a window on the east return and a first-floor window in each outer bay. The windows throughout feature a 4-pane glazing pattern in sash and case style. The shop windows are located flanking the door. The building has ashlar coped skews, stone end stacks, a larger mutual gable stack to the west, and a wallhead stack added at the rear. The roof is covered with purple slates.
