Description
Curlew Cottage is an early 18th century, two-storey, five-bay house that is part of a terraced pair. The building features harled pointed red rubble sandstone on the north (street) front, with cement rendered dressings and a base course.
The northeast elevation is symmetrical, with a central entrance that has a two-leaf door and a strip fanlight above. There are low windows in the flanking bays, as well as in the centre and outer bays on the first floor. The west gable is blank and has a modern lean-to garage addition. The sash and case windows have a four-pane glazing pattern. The steeply pitched roof is covered with pantiles and exhibits the distinctive East Lothian skew formation, with gable end stacks.
