Description
Rowan Cottage is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay semi-detached house located on Duns Road in Gifford. It features a single-storey, two-bay wing to the east, which was formerly a two-storey neighbour. The exterior is constructed of pointed rubble red sandstone with ashlar dressings.
On the northeast elevation, there is a central door with a strip fanlight, flanked by windows in the outer bays on both floors. The single-storey wing to the left has windows in each bay, with the outer window likely being a former door. The property has a 12-pane glazing pattern in its sash and case windows. The roof is covered with pantiles, featuring a slate easing course and end stacks on the two-storey section.
