Description
This is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house located at 252 Church Street in Tranent. The exterior features painted harling with painted ashlar dressings. The bays are grouped towards the centre, with a door that has been widened later. There are windows flanking the door and one window in each bay on the first floor. The southwest gable is blank, and there is a single-storey cottage attached to the northeast gables. The sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern. The house has ashlar coped skews, end stacks, and a roof covered with red pantiles.
Surrounding the property are high sandstone rubble retaining walls with rubble coping to the north and west, built on sloping ground.
