Description
The Former Manse on Church Street in Tranent is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house that features a later lean-to addition. The exterior is finished with natural harling and harl-pointed rubble on the sides.
On the southeast elevation, the bays are grouped towards the center, where there is a door with a cement rendered surround, flanked by windows. Each bay has a window on the first floor.
The house has a slate roof with a lean-to on the west gable, which has a blank wall above it. There is also a first floor window on the east gable. The sash and case windows have a four-pane glazing pattern. The building features ashlar coped skews, end stacks, and a steeply pitched roof with a red pantile and white slate eaves course.
