Description

West Lodge at Cardoness is a single-storey lodge built in the mid-19th century, designed in a T-plan layout. The lodge features rubble walling with polished red sandstone at the angles and around the window margins. There is a porch located at the southwest re-entrant angle, which includes a door with a fanlight above it. All the windows are sash and case style, with small-pane glazing. Notably, there is a canted window on the west gable that has a parapet. The roof is covered with good graded slate and has flat sandstone skews and boldly projecting skewputts.
