Description
This is a late 18th-century farmhouse with a lower, gabled wing at the rear, forming an L-shaped plan. It has a regular three-bay south-facing elevation. The farmhouse is built of rubble stone with a granite base course, and granite window and corner details. A glazed timber porch with a piend roof and a decorative astragalled fanlight above the door was added in the early 20th century to the south elevation. The windows are sash and case style; the ground floor windows have 12 panes, while the first-floor windows have six panes with a fixed upper sash. A single-storey and attic rear wing has dormers in its piend slate roof. The roof is slated, with coped gable ends and chimney stacks. The farmhouse is part of a group with Cally Mains Steading and Cally Mains Hay Barn.
