Description

Circa 1800. 4-storey, 5-bay tenement, forming part of terrace. Coursed sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Base course; string course above ground and 2nd floors; chamfered reveals; round-arched doorways with pilaster surrounds; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; gabled dormerheads to 3rd floor windows in 2nd, 3rd and 5th bays.

N ENTRANCE elevation: pedimented doorways in 2nd and 3rd bays; bipartite window between bays at ground; single windows in 2nd bay; bipartite windows in 3rd bay with carved consoles and balustrades to balcony at 2nd floor. Carved strapwork pediment to doorway in 5th bay; single window flanking to right; bipartite windows toeach floor above in advanced panel. Full-height canted windows in 1st and 4th bays; pyramidal roofs; decorative wrought-iron finials. Bracketted chimneybreast to corniced wallhead stack between 1st and 2nd bays. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; boxdormer; corniced mutual stacks; moulded octagonal cans. INTERIORS: not seen 1991.
