80, 82, 84 Marchmont Crescent, Edinburgh

80, 82, and 84 Marchmont Crescent in Edinburgh is a four-storey, five-bay tenement built in 1885, designed in a Baronial style and forming part of a curved terrace. The building is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone, featuring polished ashlar dressings. It has a base course, a dividing band course above the ground floor, a string course above the first floor, and a corbel table at the fourth floor that steps down to create a segmental-arched hood over the first-floor window in the inner right bay. The reveals are chamfered.

On the west (entrance) elevation, there are three doorways and two single windows at the ground level in the inner bays. The outer left and right bays feature full-height canted windows that are corbelled to square at the crowstepped gableheads, which also include paterae. The inner right and central bays have bipartite windows on all floors, with the fourth-floor windows being pedimented and adorned with decorative paterae and finials. The bay to the inner left has single windows, and there is a round-arched pediment above the fourth-floor window.

The building has plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, a corniced wallhead stack, coped mutual stacks, moulded octagonal cans, and beak skewputts. The interiors were not seen in 1990. There is a low saddleback wall along the street.
