Description

David McArthy, 1883. 4-storey, 4-bay tenement, part of Scottish 17th century style terrace. Squared and snecked sandstone with contrasting polished ashlar dressings. Base course; cornice above ground floor; string course above 2nd floor; roll-moulded door surrounds; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; chamfered reveals.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: near-symmetrical. 3 doorway and single window to central bays at ground floor. Full-hight canted windows to outer left and right; dividing and eaves cornices; parapet with fielded panels and swan-neck pediment to bay to outer left; hexagonal pyramidal roofs. Bipartite windows to central bays, 3rd floor windows braking eaves in pedimented dormerheads. Central framed and pedimented plaque above 1st floor; corbelled panel with blind oculus above, breaking eaves and linked to corniced central stack.

Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corniced mutual stacks; moulded octagonal cans.

INTERIORS: not seen 1990.

Low saddleback wall to street.
