86, 88, 90 Marchmont Crescent, Edinburgh

86, 88, and 90 Marchmont Crescent in Edinburgh is a four-storey, five-bay tenement built in 1885, designed in the Baronial style and forming part of a curved terrace. The building is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone, featuring polished ashlar dressings. It has a base course, a dividing band course above the ground floor, a string course above the first floor, and a corbel table at the fourth floor that steps down to create a segmental-arched hood over the first-floor window in the central bay. The reveals are chamfered.

On the west (entrance) elevation, there are three doorways and two single windows at the ground level in the inner bays. The outer left and right bays feature full-height canted windows that are corbelled to square at the crowstepped gableheads, which also include circular paterae. The inner right and central bays have bipartite windows on all floors, while the fourth-floor windows are pedimented with decorative paterae and topped with finials. The inner left bay has single windows, and the fourth-floor windows here have round-arched pediments.

The building has plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, a corniced wallhead stack, coped mutual stacks, moulded octagonal cans, and beak skewputts.

The interiors were not seen in 1990. There is a low saddleback wall along the street.
