Description
4-6 Carmelite Street in Banff is a house dated 1762, featuring three storeys and three bays, with a pend arch on the right side. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins. The main doorway is flanked by shop windows, which may have been enlarged in the 19th century. Above the entrance is a keystoned segmental-headed pend arch with double-leaf plank doors. The first and second floors have three regularly spaced windows, with plate glass glazing on the ground floor and timber sash and case windows on the upper floors.
At the rear, there is a projecting wing with an entrance on the first floor accessed by a forestair, which has a circular light above it. The rear of the building features 12-pane glazing. The house has corniced end stacks and a slate roof.
