Description

James Reid, 'squarewright', 1796. Plain 3-storey and dormerless

attic, regular 5-bay frontage; ashlar, rusticated at ground floor,

polished ashlar dressings, harled return gables and rear.

Double-leaf panelled door to centre entrance; 12-pane glazing in

timber sash and case windows. Rusticated quoins; deep moulded eaves cornice.

Moulded cornices to end and rear stacks; gabled platform slate

roof to front block, plain gable at rear.

INTERIOR: wide cantilevered stone staircase with moulded underside; plain handrail and plain iron balusters. Simple plaster cornice in former lst floor former drawing room; some 6-panel raised and fielded doors survive.
