Description
32 Low Street in Banff is a building dating from around 1840. It is two stories tall and has three bays. The front is made of ashlar stone, with harl-pointed rubble on the return gables and polished ashlar dressing. The entrance features a corniced door in the center, flanked by enlarged windows. There is a bandcourse between the ground and first floors, and the first floor has regular window placement. The ground floor includes a window in the south return gable, while both gables have windows on the first floor. The windows are timber sash and case with four-pane glazing. The roof is a piended platform covered with slate and has a single corniced stack at the rear. Notably, there is a reset painted royal coat of arms from 1634 in the north return gable, along with a datestone from 1628 and a worn carved depiction of the Virgin and Child.
