Description
42 and 44 Bridge Street in Banff is a late 18th century, two-storey dwelling that has had a shop added later. The building features three bays and is finished with harled walls and painted ashlar margins. The doorway is located in the outermost bay, while the shopfront has pilastered jambs and slender cast-iron columns that support a bracketed and corniced fascia. On the first floor, there are three small windows that have been raised to create flat-roofed dormers; these windows have 4-pane timber sash and case glazing, while the shop uses plate glass. The building has a coped end stack and a roof made of corrugated asbestos.
