Description
49 and 53 Bridge Street in Banff is a building from the later 18th century. It is a two-storey structure with an irregular four-bay layout and a pend entrance on the right side. The exterior is harled with painted margins. Number 49 features a compact three-bay shop front that dates from around 1835. The central entrance is flanked by panelled windows, with the doorway and windows separated by pilasters that have carved composite capitals. Above, there are paired windows with a central wallhead chimney stack. The pend has single windows on the ground floor and two on the first floor. All first-floor windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The building has end and ridge stacks and a corrugated asbestos roof.
