Description

Later 18th century. 2 storeys over raised basement, 5 symmetrical bays; site slopes to rear revealing 3 storeys and attic, also 5 bays. Tooled ashlar frontage with painted ashlar margins and dressings. Harled return gable and rear, also with ashlar margins.

Centre entrance masked by projecting square painted ashlar porch, 1825-30, with centre door under wide radial fanlight and side lights; clasped angle pilasters and corniced blocked wallhead. Porch oversails raised basement.

Outer (and rear) windows paired; timber sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing; corniced blocked wallhead; slate roof; moulded corniced end stacks.

REAR: later forestair serves new rear entrance; enlarged raised basement window; 2 modern box dormers; varied glazing.

INTERIOR: stairhall with wide staircase; simple wooden stick balusters and polished wooden handrail; ground floor room to left, former parlour, with anthemion frieze and chimneypiece, both of l825-30. Raised and fielded l8th century panelled doors and window shutters; also beaded panelled window shutters of l825-30.
