Description
Hedge Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse built for the Portman family. It features coursed and squared rubble with prominent chamfered quoins and a hipped slate roof. The building has three renewed ashlar and concrete block stacks, one topped with brick. The symmetrical front has two storeys and three bays, with 16-pane sash windows set in dressed stone surrounds that have cambered heads and emphasized keys. The central door opening contains a four-panelled door and is framed by a stone portico that includes an entablature, cornice, and blocking course supported by twin Tuscan columns and pilasters on the wall. To the right, there is a single bay that is set back but maintains the same style.
