Description
The boundary wall with gate piers and gates at the roadside frontage of Pylle Manor dates from the 17th century. It features a pair of rusticated ashlar gate piers that stand approximately 4 meters high, adorned with moulded cornices and angular caps topped with ball finials. The gates are made of wrought iron in a style reminiscent of the 18th century. The wall itself is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, standing about one and a half meters high, and extends 6 meters to the east and 44 meters to the west, with a gateway at the west end that includes a 19th-century wooden gate. There is an additional section of the wall that extends 15 meters to the northwest, topped with moulded coping that has offsets.
