Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a house, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with freestone dressings and features a slate roof with coped verges and restored ashlar stacks. The building has a square plan and is designed in the Tudor style, standing two storeys tall with an attic. The garden frontage has three bays and includes three small gablets in the attic, one of which has a two-light stone-mullioned window. The first floor features a three-light stone-mullioned window and two mullioned and transomed casements, all with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are two pairs of French windows set in freestone surrounds, along with a three-light canted bay window that has stone-mullioned and transomed windows. The door opening on the west side has a four-centred arch head and a ribbed door. Inside, there is ornamental plasterwork and three interesting fireplaces on the ground floor. The Old Rectory is prominently located in the settlement, next to the parish Church of All Saints.
