Description
Batch Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1600. It is constructed of coursed rubble with dressed quoins, features a coped verge to the left, and has brick stacks and a thatched roof. The building has a cross-passage design with a wing that forms an L-plan. It stands two storeys tall and consists of two bays, with dormer gables on the first floor that have bases for finials. The windows are three and four-light moulded stone-mullioned types with stopped labels. The left dormer gable includes a higher attic window that is inset into the gable face and has two lights.
The main entrance features a flat-pointed arch stone door opening with a drip and carved spandrels, above which are two carved fleurons and a label. The door itself is a plank door with strap hinges. There is a similar door located at the rear on the cross-passage, with stall carvings on each side displaying the initials "T.C." and "M.C." Inside, there is a similar door opening in the cross-passage.
