Lower Hedge Farmhouse

Lower Hedge Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been later divided into two dwellings. It is constructed from coursed and square rubble, topped with a corrugated iron sheeting roof and features coped verges, each with a stack at the apex. The building stands two storeys tall with an attic and consists of four bays, showcasing predominantly 2 and 3-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows, along with two 19th-century casements that have glazing bars. There are two door openings with plank doors beneath wooden lintels. Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops, a winder staircase located at the left gable wall, and two fireplaces set in plain 19th-century surrounds, as well as an 18th-century door. The additions to the left and right returns are noted as having no special interest. At the time of re-survey in September 1984, the building was reported to be in a poor state of repair.
