8/175 Lower Hedge Farmhouse - - II

Farmhouse, later divided into 2 dwellings. C17. Coursed and square rubble, corrugated iron sheeting roof, coped verges, each with a stack at apex. Two storeys and attic, 4 bays, predominantly 2 and 3-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows; 2 C19 casements with glazing bars. Two door openings, plank doors under wooden lintols. Interior with chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops; winder staircase to left gable wall; 2 fireplaces in plain C19 surrounds; C18 door. The additions to the left and right returns are of no special interest. The building is in a poor state of repair at time of re-survey, (September 1984).
